Sometimes Mother Nature just doesn't cooperate, ya know?
Saturday was the date set for The Sharlot Haul - a bike event designed to benefit Sharlot Hall. But, it's expected to be really cold and rainy. Maybe, even snowy.
It's a huge disappointment for those that have been planning and anticipating a wonderful day of biking and camaraderie all to help out Sharlot Haul. But, sometimes these things happen, and there's not much that can be done about it.
Barry Barbe, the Sharlot Haul event organizer sent out this memo:
"Due to the weather forecast for Saturday, November 10th, The Sharlot Haul bike event, benefitting downtown Prescott's Sharlot Hall Museum, has been rescheduled for March of 2013. The new date will be announced once it is confirmed with the Prescott National Forest.
"All riders who have paid in advance for the event will have their money refunded and notified by email as to the new date. Due to participant requests, the Spring ride will include a foot trial hike and equestrian rides . Additionally, plans are being incorporated to ensure a foul weather back up location in the case of inclement weather.
"With 18 sponsors, $10,000.00 in sponsorships and in kind donations have been received. Thank you to all our sponsors, including the Yavapai Prescott Indian Tribe, Windermere Real Estate, High Gear Bike Shop, Kohls, Prescott Area Independents, Lloyd's Liquor, Prescotts Home Town Radio Group, Orthopedic Specialist of Central Arizona, Manzanita Outdoor, Spring Hill Suites, House Chilson, Prescott True Value, Costco, eNews, Hensley Beverage, El Gato Azul, The Foothills Bank, Action Graphics, and all the riders who registered!
