Dear Fellow Prescott Citizens,
I feel truly honored to be up for re-election on the Prescott City Council. Over the 16 years I have representing our great City, I’m proud to have played a part in many of the civic improvements here. Despite being a native of Prescott, there are days I don't even recognize the town I grew up in, but it’s not a bad thing to me. I understand that people from all over want to move here once they look at what we have and how fortunate we are. I know some of you want to shut the gates, but we can’t! That’s why it takes folks like me to be your representative on City Council to understand smart growth, what we should approve for development and what we shouldn't. It takes knowing about our water capabilities and conservation techniques, which I’ve studied by serving as a volunteer representative on the Arizona Water Commission Board for 16 years. As a business owner for more than 38 years, I know what it takes to grow a successful business and I support those trying to contribute to our City by bringing more decent paying jobs for people in our community. And I have always been a good sounding board for folks who have issues that need attention.
As your Councilman, I’ve faced some hard decisions over the years, but have always been fiscally responsible in looking at what serves the greatest good for the majority of the citizens here. I’ve even donated my council salary every month to non-profits in the community. As your City representative for the past four terms, I’m proud of all we have been able to accomplish, but there is so much more to be done. I’ve sat next to many great people on the Council and would be grateful if you would allow me to continue the good work we’ve started. So, when you get your ballot, I humbly ask for your vote to keep me working for you.
Keep on livin’ the Dream,
Steve Blair, Prescott City Councilman
