The CTEC facility has been renovated and improved.

Prescott, AZ (Sep. 10, 2015) – The public is invited to attend an open house event at Yavapai College’s Career and Technical Education Center (CTEC) at 220 Ruger Road in Prescott on Saturday, Oct. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to celebrate and learn more about the facility’s recent renovations and the valuable programs it offers. A brief program of welcome and remarks about the project begins at 10:15 a.m.

Tours of the improved CTEC will be conducted, and faculty and students will give demonstrations featuring the various technical programs available. The 108,000 square foot building sits on an eight-acre site and houses 12 programs, as well as the Yavapai College Rural Center for Entrepreneurship. Refreshments will be served.

The $5.2 million renovation, completed on time and $150,000 below budget, added four classrooms, expanded space and labs for several programs, incorporated 10,000 square feet of storage space, enlarged the student computer commons and created two computer labs, replaced aging overhead lights with energy efficient LED lights, and added noise abatement features.

Programs offered through CTEC include Electronic Technology, Welding, Industrial Machine Mechanic, and Applied Pre-Engineering. Technical education is one of Yavapai College’s fastest growing offerings and prepares students for well-paying careers while helping to boost the local economy.
