MATFORCE Lunch n Learn - One Mom's Story of Marijuana Addiction

05 January 2015   Jeanne Wellins

Some believe that you can't get addicted to marijuana. This mother would disagree.

The January 22nd MATFORCE Lunch ‘n Learn will feature one mom’s story of her son’s marijuana addiction, called “Helping Andy Help Others.”

Sally Schindel will tell the story of her 31 year-old son, Andy.  He died by suicide in 2014, leaving a note saying, “Marijuana killed my soul + ruined my brain.”  Sally will recount his struggle with marijuana addiction in order to raise awareness about the risks of broad legalization of the drug marijuana.

The Lunch ‘n Learn will be held on Thursday, January 22, 2015, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM at the Board of Supervisors Room, Yavapai County Administration Building, 1015 S. Fair St., Prescott and teleconferenced to the Yavapai County Cottonwood Annex, 10 South 6th St., Cottonwood. It is free and open to the public. Brown-bag lunches are welcome.
