Yavapai County Community Health Services Presents 11 Immunization Excellence Awards

Yavapai County, Ariz. – May 5, 2014 - For the 2013-2014 school year, Yavapai County Community Health Services (YCCHS) presented 11 schools Immunization Excellence Awards. This award recognizes the administration, health staff and parents of each school for their commitment to high immunization coverage.

This award is based on the data each school reports to the Arizona Department of Health Services (AZDHS) in the fall of each school year for Kindergarten and Sixth grades. To be eligible for the award a minimum of 10 students must be enrolled in the grade and the coverage level for each vaccine category is 95% or better.

The following schools were given awards:
Ash Fork Joint Unified-6th grade
Bagdad Elementary-6th grade
Canon Elementary-6th grade
Oak Creek School-Kindergarten
Sacred Heart School-Kindergarten
Coyote Springs-Kindergarten
Dr. Daniel Bright Elementary-Kindergarten
Mountain View Elementary-Kindergarten and 6th grade
Montessori Children’s House-Kindergarten
Kirkland Elementary-Kindergarten

YCCHS congratulates these schools for their hard work and commitment to student health.

Yavapai County Community Health Services also recently won two awards from The Arizona Partnership for Immunization (TAPI). YCCHS was awarded the Buck Shots award for outstanding communication programs to educate the public and health care providers about immunization with its HPV campaign. The Cloud Honorees for toddlers was awarded for achieving a minimum 90 percent coverage level with DTap, Polio, MMR, Hib, Hep b and Varicella, in two-year-old patients.
