Yavapai County Receives Local Workforce Development Area Director's Award

Congratulations to Yavapai County for the impact they have had in the community.

Teri Drew, Northern Arizona Council of Governments (NACOG) Regional Director, was on hand at the August 15, 2018 Yavapai County Board of Supervisors meeting to present the board with the Yavapai County Local Workforce Development Area Director's Award.cTeri Drew presented the award to the Board and said, “The Directors awards is given to those who have had the most impact on this community and provided us with the most support and career opportunities.” Mrs. Drew went on to say, “Yavapai County is a tremendous partner. I have had the opportunity to work with each of the supervisors as well as County Administrator Phil Bourdon, and they are all very interested, supportive and always willing to take my calls.”

Yavapai County sponsored the NACOG summer Youth Program that resulted in several new hires and new mentoring opportunities.

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Vice Chairman Randy Garrison said, “This opportunity to work with the youth and partner with NACOG has been beyond helpful, and the work that NACOG does to match jobs with workers is incredibly important.”

Yavapai County and NACOG produced 672 job placements, and provided adult basic education for 384 participants. Statewide 1,572 people have returned to work because of the efforts of NACOG.
