“The gratitude that we see from individuals we work with is more than any paycheck that I could ever receive,”Regional Director for NACOG Teri Drew said. “Their gratitude turns into our gratitude and makes us very proud of the work that we do.”

Stephen Crandall, Owner of SC Audit and Accounting Solutions, moved back to Prescott to start his business after living in the city for college before spending eight years in Phoenix. Crandall works with Yavapai College and NACOG to find quality employees for his growing business.

“We try to find the people in this community that really want success and want to learn,” Crandall said. “We want good people that are willing to learn and excited to learn.”

Crandall will often send potential candidates from Yavapai College to NACOG as the organization will work with SC Audit and Accounting Solutions to hire the employee. So far, Crandall said six have gone through the program and are still employed while one is still affiliated with the company.

“They’ve (NACOG) been an invaluable resource for us as far as assisting with our growth model and our hiring model,” Crandall said. “We will continue to work with them as much as we can as we continue to develop our company.”

The system set up with SC Audit and Accounting Solutions is a prime example of what NACOG is trying to accomplish in the community, workforce and economic development.

“Workforce Development really is economic development,” Drew said. “Economic development is building communities by building jobs, supporting industry and developing the skilled workers.”

Drew said NACOG has offered employment training for more than forty years while the annual awards have taken place for the last ten years.
