On Saturday February 17, 2018, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office Explorers were invited to attend the Mesa Police Department Team Building Challenge. The event is designed around the anticipated attendance of multiple police explorer agencies with the goal of teaching young people what it takes to work with others after meeting for the first time.
YCSO Explorers and Cadets were split up and assigned to one of eight teams containing members of the various participating agencies. The events tested both physical and mental fortitude which enhanced the challenge of working together as a team. Upon completion of the event, the Mesa Police Department officials presented awards to the cadets and explorers. YCSO Explorers and two respective teams were able to bring home 1st place (Explorer Wolfer) and 2nd place (Explorer Fimbres) awards.
The Explorer advisors would like to congratulate all the Explorers that attended and represented the Sheriff's Office so well. Their dedication does not go unnoticed and sets an example for youth in our community. Sheriff Mascher is proud of these young adults who are willing to take time out on a Saturday to test skills, learn to work with others, and build esteem within the Sheriff’s Explorer program.
