Learn about new rules regarding Recovery Homes.

Prescott, AZ.    The League of Women Voters of Central Yavapai County will be meeting this Saturday, March 4th at Las Fuentes Resort Village, 1035 Scott Drive, 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.   The topic is New Rules: Recovery Homes in Prescott.   Guest speakers are Mr. George Worley, Planning Manager with the City of Prescott; Molly McGinn, PhD, Managing Partner and Celeste Holly, Academic Outreach with TreeHouse Learning Community.

Mayor Harry Oberg’s Ad Hoc Committee on Structured Sober Living Homes was established in early 2016 and worked towards the ordinance that went into effect on January 1st of this year.  Last year as the City ordinance began to be crafted, Ms. McGinn and her professional team from the recovery field, created a four day, city approved and NARA (Northern Arizona Recovery Association) endorsed certification course. This course provides the fundamentals of professional standards for house managers of structured sober living homes.

Since this topic has been in the news for the past few years, we invite anyone interested in learning about details of the ordinance, the impact in our community and the positive outcomes of the new Home Manager Training offered through Yavapai College.
