Too often, we read in the newspaper about bad people and bad things. So, how does the world keep going round? We think it is because of people like Dr. Hojat Askari, founder of Thumb Butte Medical Center. This November 20th marks the 9th year-in-a-row that Dr. Askari will be feeding hundreds of homeless people as well as doctors and nurses at his residence in Prescott, Arizona. This is one of three giving back events that Dr. Askari holds each year in order to feed the hungry and give back to those who sacrifice so much to support the community.
As reported earlier in the year, Dr. Askari recently moved into his new offices located at 3124 Willow Creek Road, Prescott, AZ. The 12,000 sq ft state of the art medical center was the dream of his father who wanted medical clinics to serve people in need. Today, Dr. Askari's Thumb Butte Medical Center employs over 20 medical professionals, 6 full-time and 4 part-time doctors, specializing in family medicine, internal medicine, cardiology, rheumatology, allergy, podiatry, and orthopedic surgery.
"I am so thankful for all of those professionals in the medical industry that do so much for our community members in need. They sacrifice so much of their time to make sure individuals receive the care that is needed and deserved. I also want to help those in need during this time, and provide them food, care, and respect they deserve. That is why it is important to do this not just during the holidays, but throughout the year. It is all about love and respect of the other. I am truly blessed and I love serving my community. There are so many beautiful people here in Prescott. It is a wonderful place. This was the dream of my father and mother, and now my dream. The dream that I am living day to day," says Dr. Askari of Thumb Butte Medical Center.
