 City of Prescott Household Hazardous Waste Collection Registration Deadline Extended 

Prescott, AZ (March 1, 2019)  – Registration to participate in the City of Prescott Household Hazardous Waste Home Collection has been extended due to the recent snow storm.  Safely dispose of household hazardous products such as paint, pesticides, cleaners, antifreeze and batteries. Go to the Household Hazardous Waste page on the City's website.  Collection begins Monday March 4 and continues through late March.


Do you have items that you need to get rid of, but don't know how to dispose of it properly? Now is your chance, as the City is offering the free annual Household Hazardous Waste pickup at your curbside during the month of March.

To take advantage of this offer, you must schedule a pickup using the registration form at the City's website: http://www.prescott-az.gov/services-safety/trash-pickup-recycling/additional-services/household-hazardous-waste/

What qualifies as Household Hazardous Waste? What is not considered an acceptable item?

Acceptable Items:

From your house

• Aerosol Cans • Ammonia • Cleaners and Spot Removers • NiCad Batteries • Photo Chemicals and Chemistry Sets • Oven Cleaners • Bleaches • Drain Cleaners • Fire Extinguishers • CFL and Fluorescent Light Bulbs

From your garage (Containers will not be returned)

• Car Batteries • Engine Degreasers • All Engine Fluids (5 gallon limit) • Gasoline (5 gallon limit) • Kerosene (5 gallon limit)

From your yard

• Insecticides, Weed Killers and Poisons • Pesticides • Fertilizer • Herbicides • Rodent Killers • Swimming Pool Chemicals

From your workbench

• Latex Paint (20 gallon limit) • Oil-based Paint (5 gallon limit) • Adhesives • Hobby Supplies • Sealers • Solvents • Rust Preventatives • Spray Paint • Stain Thinners and Strippers

Unacceptable Waste Products

• Biological/Medical Waste • Tires • Ammunition • Leaking Containers • Appliances • Radioactive Materials • Commercial Chemicals (for business use)
