Sharlot Hall Hosts Presentation on Ernest A. Love

02 October 2018

Alan Roesler shares the story of the popular student from Prescott.

SPECIAL DAY - Tuesday afternoon, October 2 SPECIAL TIME - 4:00 to 5:00 p.m.

Featuring Biographer ALAN ROESLER

Ernest A. Love is a true, hometown hero. One hundred years ago at this time, Love was listed as "Missing In Action" while serving "Over There" during World War I - the war to end all wars. Parts of his story are featured at the Sharlot Hall Museum "Arizona and the Great War" exhibit, and his name appears at the Prescott municipal airfield and the American Legion Post both named in his honor.

But there's so much more!

Alan Roesler, author of "An Arizona Aviator in France: The Life of Ernest A. Love" and League of World War I Aviation Historians member, will share the story of the popular student from Prescott, president of his senior class at Prescott High and attending Stanford University... his flying 22 sorties in the skies over France during the height of American involvement in war-torn Europe in mid-1918...

...from the anguish of his family awaiting news of what happened to their brave son until long after the Armistice -- that 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month... the records from a French priest about a mortally wounded American aviator who fell from the skies over Tronville in that fateful September day.

Roesler's presentation at Sharlot Hall Museum is co-sponsored by the Prescott Chamber of Commerce and Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University... and will be this Tuesday afternoon, October 2 -- NOTE THE DATE -- beginning at 4 p.m. at the Sharlot Hall Museum West Gallery. The presentation is free, and seating is limited.

The presentation begins promptly at 4 p.m. in the West Gallery of the Sharlot Hall Museum on Tuesday, October 2. The Museum continues its 90th-year celebration as both a heritage site and historic location, two blocks west of the Courthouse Plaza in downtown Prescott, at 415 West Gurley Street.
