This Child of the Week feature is brought to you by Yavapai Big Brothers Big Sisters. Information about the "Little" is provided by YBBBS, which has hundreds of children waiting for "Bigs" with lots of love and a modest amount of time.
Jensen, pictured here, has been waiting more than two years for the right Big Brother.
Fifteen-year-old Jensen has been working at the Salvation Army Thrift Shop in Prescott unloading donated clothing and small items from the trucks, sorting them, and hanging up the clothes. Even after a long, hot day, he is cheerful and upbeat.
Jensen started his freshman year at Prescott High School this fall. He said Prescott Mile High Middle School "actually is a good school, but I'm happy to move on." His ambition is to become a professional chef, and high school will provide his first courses in the culinary arts.
In addition to his aspirations, he also likes various kinds of music, "including classical," he emphasizes, and he will be joining the high school's Show Choir.
He would like to walk around with a Big Brother, go to parks, do things with horses and other animals (his family has a horse in Tuba City); in short, "I don't care what we do as long as we get to eat afterwards."
Are you the right person to feed this boy's need for a Big Brother? BBBS has children waiting in nearly every school in Yavapai County and Sedona. They make it easy for you to watch a "Little" go a long way!
