Community donations help animals evacuated from Wallow Fire

Prescott area residents proved their generous spirit once again by helping the families and their pets who have been displaced by the Wallow Fire.

Following news releases to local newspapers and radio stations, United Animal Friends (UAF) collected $3,657 and over three truckloads of food and pet supplies that had been requested by volunteers at the evacuation shelters.

The donations were driven to the shelters Monday morning by UAF volunteers.   Along with the donations went the concern and best wishes for the people and pets affected by the disaster.

Shelter volunteers reported they received a surplus supply of crates, collars, and leashes, and these items will be distributed locally for use by UAF and Animal Disaster Services.
