Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Chino Valley – Chino Valley Police Department

On Friday, March 17th at approximately 5:44 am Chino Valley Police Department officers responded to the 1800 block of South S.R. 89 for a report of a pedestrian stuck by a vehicle.

Upon arrival officers discovered Linda Jeffries, age 73, of Chino Valley deceased in the roadway.

Through investigation it was determined Linda ran into the roadway for an unknown reason and was struck in the number two lane (furthest west lane) by a 1991 Honda Civic being driven by a 24-year-old Paulden resident. Speed nor impairment are considered a factor in this investigation. No charges are pending at this time.

The southbound lanes of S.R. 89 were closed from Road 2 South to Outer Loop Road from approximately 5:44 am until 11:00 am. We would like to thank the motoring public for their patience as we investigated this incident.
