Juniper and Karen Water Main Replacement Project to Begin this week

The City of Prescott and their contractor, Asphalt Paving & Supply, are set to begin the Juniper and Karen Water Main Replacement Project the week of March 20, 2023.

The project consists of removing and replacing the aged and deteriorated water mains within the Juniper Vista Subdivision and constructing a new water main along Senator Highway.

Additional work includes the installation of new water services, fire hydrants, a pressure reducing station and storm drain improvements. A chip seal application will be applied to the affected streets following utility installation.

This project will be completed in two phases that are shown in the map above. Work will begin within Phase 1, then move to Phase 2 following the completion of utility installation from Phase 1. Please note, minor construction activities may occur concurrently in both phases.

This project is scheduled to be finished in winter of 2023, with final paving occurring in Spring of 2024. Once complete, this project will increase water system reliability and upgrade the existing utility infrastructure for the local community.

Please be aware of the following impacts:
One lane of traffic will be maintained along Senator Highway during construction operations; however, motorists should expect delays.

Senator Highway will be fully open during non-working hours and weekends.
Motorists and pedestrians are asked to follow the marked signage to get to their destination.

Please be aware of

• Detours,
• Reduced speeds,
• Rough road conditions,
• Loud noise, and
• Pilot car operations throughout the work zones.
In the event of inclement weather, the work schedule may be altered or suspended without notice.
