Jeff DeWit, Arizona GOP Chair, to Speak at Pachyderm Gathering

The Yavapai County Pachyderms have announced that former Arizona State Treasurer, and recently elected Arizona GOP Chairman, Jeff DeWit, will speak at a Pachyderm meeting, this Saturday, March 11, 2023, 1 pm, at the Prescott Country Club.   The meeting will take place at the Homeowner’s  Association meeting place, 1133 Old Chisolm Trail in Dewey, Arizona.   The meeting is free and open to the public, but seating is limited, and reservations are requested.   Email suepachy@gmail.com to make a reservation.

Mr. DeWit served as Arizona’s State Treasurer from 2015 to 2018, before leaving to serve as a top campaign advisor to then presidential candidate Donald Trump.  DeWit chaired the Arizona Trump Campaign in 2016.  Following President Trump’s election, Mr. DeWit was appointed Chief Financial Officer for NASA.  In the 2020 election, he served as the Chief Operating Officer for the Trump campaign.

In January 2023, at the State Republican annual meeting, Mr. DeWit was elected to the chairmanship of the state GOP with 71% of the vote, succeeding Dr. Kelli Ward, who did not seek reelection.  Mr. DeWit is in Prescott on March 11th to attend the Yavapai Republican Party’s quarterly meeting for Precinct Committeeman.

Following that event, he will speak at a public meeting of the Pachyderm Club. Also speaking at the event are former state senator and current National Republican Committeewoman, Lori Klein.   Other speakers include Richard Thomas, President of the College Republicans United, Tony Hamer, candidate for the Prescott City Council, and Wiley Cline, who is considering a run for Yavapai County Supervisor for District 2.   Former LD1 State Representatives and conservative activists Barbara Blewster, David Stringer, and Judy Burges, are also expected to attend.

The Pachyderm Club was founded in 2007 by conservative firebrands Don Goldwater, former State Senator Thayer Vershoor,  and Phil Mason, as a platform for conservative voices within the State GOP.  For many years the Yavapai County chapter was led by Sue Goodchild and held monthly meetings  at the Bonfire Restaurant in Chino Valley.

As a result of a fire at the restaurant and COVID closures in 2020, Pachyderm meetings were suspended.  However, for 2023, the Pachyderms have been revived and will hold a full schedule of candidate events leading up to the 2024 election.

Members of the public wishing to meet Mr. DeWitt and other Republican leaders are cordially invited to attend the meeting, Saturday, March 11th, 1 pm, at the Prescott Country Club HOA, 1133 Old Chisolm Trail in Dewey, Arizona.  The event is free. Light refreshments are provided.  RSVP’s may be addressed to suepachy@gmail.com
