Honoring Our Men and Women in Blue at Blue Light Night

The more than 90 Courthouse Plaza trees that are decorated with lights for the holidays will be switched to blue starting Monday night, January 9, 2023 for three nights in honor of National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day. A short program will be presented by local agencies at 5:30 pm on the Northside steps of the Courthouse. Yavapai County Sheriff, David Rhodes, Prescott Police Chief, Amy Bonney, Prescott Valley Police Chief, Bob Ticer, and Chino Valley Police Chief, Chuck Wynn are all slated to speak. The event is outside and free to attend.

“The lights turned blue last year for the first time, and everyone was delighted with what they saw,” stated Matt Brassard, Board Vice President with the Prescott Downtown Partnership. “We decided to flip the switch this year to show appreciation again to our local heroes. We hope people will take time to come out and show their support to those who protect us every day. We’re grateful to our local leaders who will be there to say a few words about their own organizations. It’s just a small way for us to show our gratitude” Brassard concluded.
