The Prescott Badgers offense put on a show with a 62-28 win over Glendale, in what turned out to take two nights to finish due to the weather. The game started at Greenway High School but ended at Independence High School, because of field issues at Glendale.

Coming into the game both teams had scored over 40 points in their first games with mixed results. Glendale lost 48-42 to Apollo, while the Badgers dominated Carl Hayden 43-0.

This game was wild offensively as well, but Prescott made enough stops and pulled away. Friday night originally game night, but officials ultimately called it with 4:36 left in the first half and a Badger 35-14 lead due to lighting and heavy rain.

Glendale took the opening kickoff and went down the field, but the Badger defense stood tall and stopped the drive at the Prescott nine. The first taste of what was about to be for the Prescott offense came quickly on their first offensive play. Maurea Norris bolted 91 yards for a touchdown to give Prescott an early lead. Cole Gross added the Pat for a 7-0 lead.

The Badger defense rose again with Jack Mason picked off the pass, but an inadvertent whistle gave the ball back to Glendale, but the relief was only temporary because the Badgers would get the touchdown on the next play. Jake Wright got the scoop and scored deep in Glendale territory to put the Badgers up 14-0.

Glendale found some success, cutting the Badger lead in half with a 12-yard pass from Zech Owens to Anthony Varella on a 12-yard touchdown pass. Prescott quarterback Jaxon Rice connected with Uriah Tennette setting up the next score with a big reception to the 39 yd line from of Glendale. Cian Mckelvey ran the ball the final 20 yards for a 21-7 first quarter lead.

The Badger defense held on a fourth and six play when Cort Lewis sacked Cardinal QB Zech Owens back at the Prescott 43. The Badger offense got back to work. Cody Leopold scored his fourth TD of the season running the ball in from 22 yards out with 9:22 remaining in the second quarter.

The Glendale offense scored on a quick two play 75-yard drive in just :24 seconds. Jack Mason had a touchdown saving tackle of Jesus Garcia on a 70 yard run, but the Cardinals punched it in on the very next play. Owens called his own number on a five-yard run to cut their deficit to 28-14 with 8:54 on the second quarter clock.

Tennette ran the ball in for a 35-14 lead with still 4:36 left in quarter number two. That is when the officials called a lightning delay, ending the evening of football.

When play resumed on Saturday evening, this time at Independence High School, Glendale received the kickoff trailing by three touchdowns.

The Cardinals came out and were successful moving the ball down the field until they hit a roadblock. That is when the Badger defense stood tall and held Glendale on four downs inside the Prescott 10, ultimately being stopped on fourth down at the Prescott five.

On their first offensive play, the Badgers went for the jugular. Prescott QB Jaxon Rice hit Jake Hilton over the middle in stride, going 95 yards for the touchdown. Prescott led 42-14 at the half.

The Badgers received the second half kickoff near midfield. Prescott continued to be perfect with their possession scoring for the seventh straight time.  Rice connected with Hilton on a 18-yard pass play with 7:38 left in the third.

Victor Padilla returned the kickoff to the Badger 40, followed by a pass interference call placed the ball at the Prescott 19. Glendale was able to score when Jesus Garcia rushed in from 8 yards out to make the score 49-21 with two minutes left in the third.

The Prescott offense continued to dominate the Glendale defense scoring for the eighth consecutive time. Rice hit Christopher Brown on a pass play to the Cardinals 28.  Maurea Norris ran the ball in for the score from 26 yards out. Cole Gross remained perfect as well, making the score 56-21, as the third quarter came to an end.

The Badgers scored yet again, this time on a one yard run by Norris, his third TD in two nights, with 7:48 remaining.

The Cardinals picked up a late touchdown when Zech Owens called his own number on a 12-yard rushing touchdown to make the score 62-28. The only time the Badger offense was stopped, was their final time with the ball, with less than a minute left.

Defensive standouts include Jake Wright with the scoop and score and a quarterback sack.

A whopping total of 589 yards for the game, that included 331 yards on the ground, with an average of over nine yards per carry. Maurea Norris led Prescott in rushing with 130 yards on only eight carries, and average of over 16 yards per carry and three touchdowns. Cian Mckelvey ran for 105 yards and a TD, and Cody Leopold for 61 yards and one touchdown.  Through the air, a total of 258 yards, with most of that coming from starting QB Jaxon Rice, who connected on seven of ten for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Jake Hilton had a big game receiving with five catches for 159 yards and two touchdowns.
