City of Prescott Seeks Applications for Council Vacancy

In an earlier release, Councilwoman Jessica Hall announced her resignation from Prescott City Council effective July 25, 2022. At their Voting Meeting on July 26, Prescott City Council voted to accept applications to fill the vacancy through November 2023. Applicants must have been a registered voter in the City of Prescott for at least one year prior to appointment.

Applications will be reviewed in an Executive Session Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, August 16th at which time Council will select the candidates to be interviewed at Special Meeting on Tuesday, August 23rd . It is the intent of the City Council to have the selected candidate sworn in at the Tuesday, September 13th Voting Meeting.

Interested citizens may access the application on the city website HERE or by contacting the City Clerk’s Office. The application filing deadline is 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.

  1. I do not know what made Ms. Hall leave her seat, nobody is talking about it, and that is wrong. Her leaving creates a situation where the city has to spend time and resources replacing her seat. If she was having problems on council, we should know that. If she was having personal issues that made it impossible for her to continue, all she had to do was say she was leaving for personal reasons. With all this quiet, I want to know if there is something rotten in Denmark. Good luck to Ms. Hall.
