Area Mayors Show Support for the 1st Annual Summer of Giving in the Quad-Cities

The Mayors of Chino Valley, Dewey-Humboldt, and Prescott Valley have confirmed their support of the Quad-Cities’ first annual Summer of Giving and Giving Competition with proclamations scheduled for this July and early August. The Summer of Giving starts July 12th and ends on September 22nd.

Chino Valley issued its proclamation for the Summer of Giving on Jun 28, 2022. Mayors Terry Nolan and Kell Palguta, of Dewey-Humboldt and Prescott Valley will announce their proclamations during city council meetings on July 12th and August 11th respectively.

“The Summer of Giving and Competition raises awareness around issues facing the Quad-Cities’ most vulnerable, overlooked, and underserved while raising critical funds for programs serving these populations.” Said, Toni Klopstein of Hozhoni Foundation.

The Summer of Giving encourages everyone in the Quad-Cities to learn more about the issues affecting the most vulnerable amongst us and do something to help. The Competition is a gamified fundraising competition that pits local sales/real estate teams and businesses against one another in a race to raise the most money. The winners will receive an exclusive and highly valued marketing package with the top donor receiving the “Corporate Ally to the Vulnerable” award.

“It’s not about the money, it’s about the support and solutions the money will provide for this area’s 365 foster kids, 435 homebound elderly, countless disabled, and more than 3,000 shelter animals.” Mona Stephens of Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation, expressed. “It’s empowering to know that the Summer of Giving and Competition gained the support of Chino Valley, Prescott Valley, and Dewey-Humboldt.”

All funds raised during the Summer of Giving Competition will be distributed equally between Yavapai CASA for Kids Foundation, Yavapai Humane Society, People Who Care AZ, and the Hozhoni Foundation, all local nonprofits dedicated to serving foster youth, abandoned/abused animals, homebound elderly, and the developmentally disabled in the Quad-Cities.
