Watters Garden Center Offers Free Gardening Classes in July

A Free Garden Class is offered every Saturday in July @ 9:30 am at Watters Garden Center, 1815 Iron Springs Rd in Prescott.

July 2 @ 9:30 am – Gardening for Newcomers Learn all the mountain secrets to local garden success. This is an information-packed class guaranteed to increase garden blooms and fruit this year. Learn about growing zones, frost dates, soils, and more; you’ll know exactly what to do in the gardens after this class.

July 9 @ 9:30 am – Plant Better Berries and Grapes –  Berry, grape, fig, and pomegranate are all covered in this juicy, fast pace class.  After this week’s class, you will have bowls of fruit picked fresh from the gardens.

July 16 @ 9:30 am – Avoid these Common Pests at All Cost – Hard-to-kill bugs like grasshoppers, blister beetles, and spider mites kill.  After this science-heavy class, you will exactly what to look for and how to deal with pests and diseases in the gardens.   You can have a nice yard with these easy-to-use tips and a few key plant choices.  Frustrated gardeners will have all the tools they need to keep the garden pest-free!

July 23 @ 9:30 am – Privacy Screens and Barriers – Tired of looking at the neighbor’s RV? This class shows off the best, fastest-growing plants to fill in your privacy screens! You can screen unsightly neighbors, enhance your view, or block pesky traffic and cut noise and light pollution.  Experts will be on hand to help individuals with unique situations.

July 30 @ 9:30 am – Edible Landscape with Trees & Berries Have your landscape and eat it, too! We’ll share the tips, tricks, and recipes that make for a better, healthier, and tastier landscape. Plant experts will be on hand after the class that specializes in fruiting designs that can be eaten after planting.
