Three classes battled it out as the winds kicked in at the Cal Cordes Singles Horseshoe Tournament. The tournament was originally scheduled at Watson Lake, home of the club courts, but with fire personnel occupying the closed park, it was moved to Prescott Valley.
Class A went down the last game as Bruce Reid got past Bruce Miller, who started off hot, to win that one. Trisha Lincoln got past Miller in the previous game, giving Reid the opportunity to win Class A outright.
Class B saw the only tie of the day as Patti Lopez-Cepero went toe to toe with eventual winner David Loving. Jay Mast finished second with one lost that was to Loving. Lopez-Cepero took third. Gerald Stainbrook won Class C over second place Cody Williams, who was just a few points away from creating a tie, and forcing a playoff.
