Tyson Potts delivered a complete game performance in shutting down the Estrella Foothills Wolves as the Badgers beat the Wolves 10-4 in a night game in Goodyear.

The Badgers had lost to the Wolves 6-3 in Prescott on March 4,but this was a bigger game, being a playoff play-in game. The win will give Prescott a game on Saturday.

Prescott jumped on top with two runs in the first and second innings to lead 4-0. Another two runs in the fourth built a 6-0 lead before the Wolves picked up three to cut the lead to 6-3. A run in the fourth was as close as Estrella Foothills would get.

The Badgers added three in the top of the sixth and one more for good measure in the seventh. Potts allowed just two earned runs, eight hits with seven strikeouts in picking up the win. He also led the team with three hits, three RBIs, that included a double. “It was great to throw a complete game but I could not have done it without our team playing great defense. We hit the ball well and finally played a clean game. If we can repeat that on Saturday, we can win against anyone”, said Potts.

At the plate, besides Potts’ big night, Ryan Elliot scored three runs, picking up two hits with an an RBI. Lukas Barrett had a hit and two RBIs. Sam Strasser had a single, two walks and scored two runs. Cooper Magnett also scored twice with a single. Brenden Costes had a pair of singles.

Prescott (11-12) moves on, while Estrella Foothills ends their season at (21-6). The Badgers will face a very good Walden Grove team in Sahuarita on Saturday at 11:00 am.
