Badgers Roll Past Bradshaw Mountain 3-0 : PHS Sports Roundup

Varsity Boys Volleyball

The Badgers made it a season sweep over rival Bradshaw Mountain Bears 3-0 in the Badger Dome. Prescott swept the Bears (0-8) in Prescott Valley on March 1.

In the third game, the Badgers led 24-0 before the Bears got a point to not suffer a shutout.

Micah Buettner said, “It is always good to win and beat your rival. This is the first year of their program, and they will get better. We are having a good season and look forward to finishing strong.”

Prescott improves to (8-1) and will host Peoria tonight at 5:30 pm.

Varsity Baseball

The Badgers lost to the Mesquite Wildcats 10-7 at Prescott High School yesterday. Each team rolled a pair of nickels in the error department, allowing for a total of nine unearned runs. The Wildcats, the #3 team in Division 4, jumped on top in the top of the first with three runs off Prescott starter Peyton Little.

Mesquite (15-8) would add one more in the second before the Badgers would battle back to tie the game 4-4. The Wildcats put up three more in the third and once again Prescott came back to tie the game at seven.

Ethan Ammerman came in to pitch the final four innings, allowing only one earned run, as the Badger defense gave up two additional runs. Prescott managed only one hit in the final four innings off of Jacob Wendt and Sebastian Granillo.

Prescott leadoff hitter Sam Strasser had a good day at the plate, with three hits and two RBIs, including a stolen base. Josh Miller had a double and two RBIs. Lukas Barrett and Jacob McElfresh each had an RBI.

The Badgers (8-8) will host Flagstaff in a Grand Canyon Region game on Tuesday at 3:00 pm.

Varsity Softball

The Prescott Badgers evened their season mark at (10-10) with a 13-1 win over the Lee Williams Volunteers, in Kingman. Prescott improves to (3-4) in the Grand Canyon Region. Lee Williams drops to (0-8) and (4-14).  The Badgers will visit Flagstaff on Tuesday at 3:45 pm.
