Prescott Mountain Bike Alliance Announces Pump Track Closure From Maintenance Beginning March 15

Prescott Mountain Bike Alliance today announced that the mountain bike pump track located in Granite Creek park will be closed for repairs beginning March 15th through the end of the week. The track will be fenced off so that repairs can be completed, and treatment of the soil will have time to cure.

We acknowledge the support from The City of Prescott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott, The Barley Hound and the community members who contributed towards this project.

The repairs have become necessary due to misuse of the pump track. The track was completely rebuilt in July 2021. 7 months of misuse has caused extensive damage to the track surface. The pump track was designed for the soft tires of bicycles. There are signs posted forbidding scooters, skateboards or any other hard wheel vehicles from riding the trail. Unfortunately, these signs have been ignored causing damage to the track. PMBA is investing $10,000 to fix the damage done. However, it asks the public for cooperation in helping keep these hard tire vehicles off the pump track.
