Vehicle Collision Results in Rollover in Chino Valley

On February 14, 2022 at approximately 8:56 am, Chino Valley Officers responded to a vehicle collision in the 4400 block of East Perkinsville Road.

When officers arrived, they found two vehicles in the field on the north side of E. Perkinsville Road. One vehicle had come to rest on its’ roof, while the other had came to rest on its’ driver side. There was a total of six people in the two vehicles and it appeared some may have been ejected during the collision and subsequent rollover. Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) and Lifeline Ambulances responded to the scene to treat all injured parties.

Three patients suffered serious injuries and were airlifted to a valley area hospital. Two patients were transported by ambulances to local hospitals. One patient declined medical attention on scene and was transported by private vehicle to an unknown local hospital. The three patients who were airlifted were last known to be in serious but stable condition. At the time of this writing the conditions of all other patients are unknown.

Preliminary investigation revealed both vehicles were headed east on E. Perkinsville Road at a high rate of speed. Somehow both ended up losing control and left the roadway. After leaving the roadway, both vehicles rolled over several times before coming to rest. Based on statements at the scene, only one of the six people involved was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. All involved parties were minors and their identities will not be released.

The Chino Valley Police Department would like to thank motorist for their understanding and patience while the roadway was closed to all traffic for several hours. We also want to thank our partnering agencies for their assistance, including the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority, Lifeline Ambulance, Native Air, Guardian Air, and the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

The Chino Valley Police Department would like to remind everyone to drive safely and wear your seatbelt.
