The Prescott Fire Department has implemented a new unit in their emergency response system. Recently, City Council gave approval to stand up an alternative response unit, which will give Prescott Fire Department the opportunity to improve response times, improve unit reliability, save wear and tear on larger apparatus, and provide better service to our citizens.

The department is calling the unit AR-76. We are utilizing an existing staff vehicle to place the adaptive response unit in service. This smaller response vehicle will have a crew of 2 to 3 people and will operate during peak hours, 40 hours a week. Their main objective is to run on calls such as public assists and minor medical calls. The crew will also be a resource to augment staffing on structure fire assignments.
