Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee to withdraw from Governor’s Race Announces Run for Re-Election as State Treasurer

Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee announced today she will be withdrawing from the Republican primary campaign for Governor and transitioning her campaign to run for a second term as State Treasurer.

“Under my leadership as State Treasurer, Arizona’s assets have grown to $26.1 Billion, an increase of 69 percent and up $11 Billion in just three years. I am proud of this historic, record growth under my watch, which means less taxes and more money for Arizonans. I have transformed this office on a platform of financial education, growth and prosperity across the state. There is additional work to be done as the Treasurer of Arizona,” said Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee.

“I promised to grow investments and the dollars flowing to communities across Arizona and have accomplished this by increasing our local government assets by $2 Billion, growth of 59.3 percent during my time as Treasurer. As Treasurer, I have added over $1 Billion in new dollars to our K-12 public schools from the Permanent Land Endowment investments. I commend my hardworking and talented team in the Treasurer’s Office for this record performance.”

“It is important that Arizonans have a proven conservative leader they can trust, especially during a time when the Biden Administration continues to lead the country towards a disastrous, economic downturn,” said Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “I will continue to protect our state’s strong economic standing and fight against Biden’s big government attempts to spy on personal financial banking records of everyday citizens. I will continue to hold radical companies accountable for their actions as I did with my divestment of $143 million from Unilever, the parent company of Ben & Jerry’s, as a result of their discriminatory, Anti-Semitic boycott of Israel.”

“I want to thank my volunteers and supporters from across Arizona’s 15 counties for their support during my campaign for Governor. As I transition my campaign, I invite them to join me in my re-election efforts for Arizona Treasurer,” said Treasurer Kimberly Yee. “We will have more information in the coming days as I launch my re-election campaign for Treasurer.”

As Arizona’s chief banking and investment officer, Treasurer Kimberly Yee is a statewide constitutional officer serving a four-year term. Treasurer Yee safeguards approximately $26 billion in assets and stewards the cash management of Arizona’s $53 billion state budget and related payments to state agencies, local governments and public schools.

  1. Good! The crowded field running for governor with Kerri Lake leading the field with President Trump’s endorsement was a bridge too far. Smart move.
