Local Conservatives to Host Arizona Governor Candidate Steve Gaynor

The local chapter of Yavapai County’s Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic (ConCR)  has announced that Steve Gaynor, Republican candidate for Arizona Governor, will speak at their upcoming meeting Saturday, November 27, 2021, in Chino Valley.  The meeting is free and open to the public but seating is limited.  Those wishing to attend are asked to RSVP.

Steve Gaynor was the 2018 Republican candidate for Arizona Secretary of State.  He won the Republican primary against incumbent Michele Reagan, but lost by a margin of less than one percent to Democrat Katie Hobbs in the general election.  He describes himself as a political outsider who built a successful printing business before entering political life.  His website identifies him as a constitutional conservative and the only Republican candidate for governor who has had executive experience.  He will face a crowded field In the August 2022 Republican primary that includes former Congressman Matt Salmon, Trump-endorsed Kari Lake, current Arizona Treasurer Kimberly Yee, and businesswomen Karrin Taylor Robson.

In 2019 Mr. Gaynor formed a nonprofit, Fair Maps Arizona, which has been focused on redistricting following the 2020 census.  He is a lifelong member of the NRA and the Arizona Defense League and hews to a strong conservative line on the issues facing Arizona.

With respect to border security, he promises to increase the presence of the Arizona National Guard and strengthen border Sheriffs to combat drug smuggling and human trafficking.  With respect to election integrity, he advocates scrubbing voter rolls every two years and requiring a voter ID for in-person voting.  He has taken a strong position on improving academic outcomes in public education, opposes Critical Race Theory, and supports parental choice in education.   On water issues he embraces a technology solution thru desalination as the best long-term solution to looming water shortages.

The Yavapai County chapter of Conservatives for a Constitutional Republic is a group of conservative activists dedicated to defending and promoting the values of representative government as set forth in the United States Constitution.   They are a private organization and not directly affiliated with any political party.  However, most members are registered Republicans or conservative leaning independents who are civically engaged or are current or former elected officials or candidates for office.  The November meeting is the last for 2021.  However, for the coming year, President Dutton has scheduled candidates for all top level and national offices to address the group.

ConCR meets monthly at the Bible Baptist Church, 3490 N. State Road 89, in Chino Valley. Recent speakers include Arizona GOP Chair Dr. Kelli Ward, former Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce, Congressmen Paul Gosar and Andy Biggs, and many other prominent conservative figures.   ConCR is a membership organization. However, in the interest of informing voters about important candidates and issues, the appearances of guest speakers of high public interest are open to the public.  All those wishing to meet Mr. Gaynor and learn about his position on issues of importance to conservative voters are cordially invited to attend.  Doors open at 11am.  The meeting will begin promptly at 11:15am.  RSVPs are requested and should be addressed to concr2018@gmail.com.
