Representatives from the Chino Valley Police Officers Association visited the Chino Valley Unified School District office on Wednesday November 17, 2021, to deliver a check for $750.00 to provide Thanksgiving dinner to 10 local families in need.
The donation was presented to the Chino Valley Education Foundation , a 501(c) (3) non-profit dedicated to supporting students, teachers and families. The organization runs programs including the Hungry Kids Project, Homeless Assistance, Food Neighbors and many more.
Members of the Chino Valley Police Department will join others from the CVUSD and the CVEF on Wednesday, November 24, 2021, to deliver the meals.
As of November 18, 2021, approximately 20 families have been chosen to receive the free holiday meals, selected by CVUSD Family Resource Specialist/Homeless Coordinator and CVEF board member Laurie Marley. Marley works year-round to assist students and their families with various needs, including meals, clothing, and housing.
The CVPOA represents the civilian employees and sworn officers of the CVPD and is affiliated with eh Arizona Conference of Police and Sheriffs (AZCOPS). The CVPOA works throughout the year on fundraisers that benefit the Chino Valley community through various events and programs.
