Arizona Philharmonic (AZ Phil), Prescott’s regional professional orchestra, was recognized for Excellence in Arts and Culture by the Prescott Chamber of Commerce Friday.  “We are delighted to be given this recognition and thank all those in the community for their support. We are grateful to be performing and contributing transformative music to our audiences,” commented Henry Flurry, AZ Phil Executive Director.

“Arizona Philharmonic supports our community by enabling concert attendance through our Art 4 All™ program, offering tickets to seniors, children, veterans and others who might not be able to afford them. We offer educational outreach, such as recent collaborations with Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys to Men, and Prescott Unified School District, where attendees of AZ Phil’s “Compose an Action Movie Theme,” workshops learned how to compose music. The majority of the students had never composed a work of music before,” Flurry added.

The Prescott Chamber Business Awards and PAYP Visionary Awards Ceremony celebrates the area’s visionary entrepreneurs, business and civic leaders, and exemplary corporate citizens. There are over 20 separate categories awarded to local businesses and individuals who displayed excellence in their category the given year. These individuals are nominated by everyday people and voted in the event by a designated committee.
The area’s top-level business leaders attended the formal breakfast awards ceremony Friday, October 15th at Prescott Resort & Conference Center.
