Chino Valley Shines At Tuba City 42-0

The Cougars played another strong game last Friday night, handling the Tuba City Warriors  42-0 in Tuba City. It was the second consecutive shutout for the Cougars, who blanked Page 46-0 the week before.

Quarterback Jayden Smith threw two touchdowns and ran in another on route to 235 yards passing and 104 yards rushing. Offensively, six Cougars scored touchdowns Friday night. Dakota McMains and Ashton Loftin had receiving touchdowns, while Smith, Brody Ryan, Johnny Parrish and Wyatt Ellis logged rushing touchdowns.

Defensively, Defensive Coach Adam Wagner pitched another shutout. Linebackers Dakota McMains and Kaden Wagner were dominant in holding Tuba City to 136 yards and zero points on the night. Defensive end Grant Adkins, defensive lineman Isaiah Kimmerle, and linebacker Joey Knisely, turned in strong performances.

The Cougars (2-2) have a big game at Kingman (2-2) on Friday, in the first game of a very competitive 3A West Region five games. Chino Valley will be back home on Friday, October 1, to play a non-region contest against the Coronado Dons, after playing four of their first five games on the road.
