The Badgers returned home to the friendly confines of the Badger Dome, and swept the  visiting Mohave Thunderbirds 3-0.

The Badgers took the first two games rather easily, but in the third, the Thunderbirds came out and built a 16-11 lead. Prescott rallied down the stretch to finish the T-birds off, outscoring Mohave 14-4 in the process.

Prescott was led by senior Lexi Wasil, who had 13 kills. Reagan Grey and Millie Diener each had 3 kills.  Hailey Whitwell anchored the defense with 12 digs.

Kari Kasun, who had 5 kills said, “It feels good to be home with the student section here. The hardest thing so far is that we have been playing down to our opponents level, and in this game we stuck to our level.  Practices have been good, we have been getting a lot of reps.”

Coach Liz Whitwell said, “I’m just proud of all of our teams, because we got the sweep. The girls have been working hard and it paid off tonight.”

The win gives the Badgers a (1-2) record in the Grand Canyon Region, and (2-3) overall. After a trip to play Desert Edge, Prescott will return home to face Marcos de Niza on Friday at 6 pm.
