High Speed Chase Ends in Arrest

On Monday, August 16, 2021, at about 9:18 AM, Prescott Valley Police Department received a request from the Arizona Department of Public Safety (DPS) and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) to locate a white Nissan Altima with Nevada license plates. Officers from both agencies attempted to stop the vehicle southbound on State Route 89 but called off the pursuit due to the high speeds of the Altima and heavy traffic.

At some point, the suspect changed license plates from Nevada to Arizona, but Prescott Valley police officers located the vehicle on State Route 89A driving recklessly at approximately 105 mph. The driver of the Altima allegedly tried to run the officers off the road, and due to safety concerns, the pursuit was terminated.

Ultimately, DPS troopers located the Altima on Interstate 17 south of Cordes Junction. Spike strips were deployed which disabled the vehicle. The driver, identified as Sean Wilson, 36 years of age, from Las Vegas, Nevada, was arrested and charged with DUI Drugs, Endangerment, and Unlawful Flight among other charges. He was transported to the Maricopa County Jail after his arrest by DPS.
