Prescott’s Mountain Artists Guild Announces New Executive Director, Isabella Chewning

“After an extensive search, we are delighted to introduce Isabella Chewning as the new Executive Director of the Mountain Artists Guild (the Guild),” stated Dawn Zintel, the Guild Board President. “Isabella brings a wealth of arts management experience, along with her fresh outlook and considerable artistic talent,” Zintel added.

Chewning, a Prescott native, attended Arizona State University and the University of Arizona studying Fine Art with a focus on sculpture. From 2011-2018 Chewning worked in retail management, but her desire to be in a creative environment brought her to Skurja Art Castings where she worked as a bronze smith from 2018-2019. She was then hired as the Arts and Culture Coordinator for the Town of Prescott Valley, where she served until recently. “Prescott is my home and art is my whole heart. I cannot think of a more wonderful opportunity than being able to help grow the Mountain Artists Guild’s presence and reach in our community.” commented Chewning.

The Mountain Artists Gallery & Gift Shop provides a place for emerging artists of all media to display and sell their work in a fine art gallery setting.  Membership benefits include learning such necessary skills as quality matting and framing and display and presentation of fine art and craftsmanship, in regularly changing exhibitions. All exhibitions give members the opportunity to display and sell at least one art piece.

Our gallery and gift shop at 228 N Alarcon St. are open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 to 3 and admission is free. The Guild also hosts two major art festivals at the Prescott Courthouse plaza every year, the Mother’s Day Fine Art and Chocolate Festival and the Fine Art and Wine Festival, this year August 7-8, featuring a select gathering of more than 100+ artists, food concessions, wine tastings, and live musical entertainment.
