After two successful years of sponsoring youth mountain bike rides and skills clinics (and unfortunately a year in hibernation due to COVID-19 concerns and restrictions) PMBA is happy to share that the program will be continuing through the leadership of another local non-profit, the Azimuth Quest Foundation.
“We are excited about continuing this program under the leadership of Brent Roberts and the Azimuth Quest Foundation” says Ximena Florez, PMBA’s Board President. “Brent was one of the original founders of the program and will continue to expand the services offered to our youth.” Brent Roberts adds “It is wonderful to be able to continue a program that was begun with the support of a number of generous donations from organizations and individuals in our community. We think this is a great way to introduce kids who might otherwise have limited access opportunities to healthy and fun outdoor activities like mountain biking.”
Azimuth Quest will be partnering with other youth organizations and entities to offer free or low-cost mountain biking programing to Prescott-area youth. Currently planned programs for 2021 include a summer-long weekly ride series offered through the Boys and Girls Club of Central Arizona (contact Alex Heinemann at firstname.lastname@example.org) and a 2-week outdoor adventure education program offered through Prescott High School (contract Matt Dean at email@example.com )
