There are more than 2.9 million breast cancer survivors in the U.S. today, the largest group of all cancer survivors nationwide! This is the third year that the YRMC Foundation, the BreastCare Center at YRMC, Summit 4×4 Club, Summit 4×4 Girls Tribe, and Summit 4×4 Company have united to fight breast cancer in Yavapai County. Fasten your seatbelts and hold on, we are rolling in 4-wheel drive!
In 2020 (yes, during a pandemic), we raised $38,000 to benefit the BreastCare Center at YRMC. We are seeing that amount climb higher in 2021! 50/50 Raffle tickets are on sale at all of the Summit events ($5 a ticket and winner of half the money raised will be drawn on May 15th) . Paracord bracelets are available at both Summit locations for $10. All proceeds go directly to the fundraiser.
Save the Date: Saturday, October 2, 2021. This fun-filled day starts with an off-road/poker run over Mingus Mountain ending up in downtown Prescott where lunch offered for a $25 donation and an auction of items donated by the community. The lunch can be attended without going on the trail run.
Our Title Sponsor, McCarthy Construction is proud to welcome our guest of honor: Ms. Marnie Uhl. Don’t miss Marnie’s story at the Grand Highland Hotel where lunch and the auction will be held.
When most people think of breast cancer, they do not consider the domestic struggles that many cancer patients endure, beyond the hair loss and fatigue. Their families often lose a portion (or all) of their income while their loved one is receiving treatment. Managing daily life activities becomes extremely difficult for the patients and their families.
100% of the funds raised by Trails 4 Tatas will benefit the BreastCare Center at YRMC to support breast cancer patients undergoing treatment for items such as wig discounts at Wigwam, home cleaning, lodging, transportation, groceries and so much more.
Laurie Cwikla, President of Summit 4×4 Girl’s Tribe, also has a personal connection to this fundraiser as there are club members who are breast cancer survivors. Knowing that the funds raised will remain in our community to help our own neighbors battling breast cancer, drives her and the entire club to raise as much as possible this year.
Our personal message to breast cancer patients and to their families is that you are not alone in this fight – Trails 4 Tatas is wheelin’ the trails for you!
