Prescott pounded Mohave 16-1 that included an 18 hit performance, as freshman Eliza Legge was all business in the circle, striking out 9 in the Badgers win over the Thunderbirds.
Makayla Reyes went 4 for 4 with a double, a triple, and 3 RBIs. Ruby Tessman went 3 for 3 with 3 RBIs. Sophia Fanchin had 3 hits and 3 RBIs. Leigha Walker had a couple of hits and a pair of RBIs. Rylee Parra had an unusual day getting hit by pitches four times, but it paid off as she scored three runs.
Coach Randall Bryan said, “Offensively we just go deep. We’ve got 10, 11, or even 12 girls, that any day your not really sure which one is going to come out and get three, four or five hits. They have all been aggressive.”
The Badgers improve to (3-0) in the Grand Canyon Region play and are (5-0) overall. Prescott will host Deer Valley today at 3 pm. Mohave falls to (0-5) in the GCR and (0-6) overall.

Jacob Hilton scored the winning run on a throwing error by the Mohave catcher, to beat the Thunderbirds 7-6 in 9 innings, at Prescott High School yesterday.
The Badgers jumped on top in the second with a pair of runs, that included a triple by Peyton Hilton. The lead would grow to 4-0, before the Thunderbirds got to pitcher Ben Schwartz, picking up two in the fourth and one in the fifth.
The Badgers led 6-3, before Mohave added a run in the sixth and two in the seventh to send the game to extra innings.
In the bottom half of the ninth, the Badgers started the inning on a leadoff walk to Hunter Hays. Peyton Little singled to right to put runners at first and second. Jacob Hilton entered to pinch run for Hays. Malaki Hawkins bunted in an attempt just to move the runners up, but the Mohave catcher threw the ball down the first base line, scoring Hilton for the win.
Elvis Hauptman picked up the win on the hill, throwing the final 4 innings, allowing 2 runs, 2 hits, walking 2, while striking out 6. Starter Ben Schwartz went 4 1/3, allowing 3 runs on 5 hits, striking out 5 and walking 3.
At the plate, Hauptman went 3 for 4, scoring twice with 2 RBIs. Peyton Little, Luke McCauslin, and Ethan Ammerman each had 2 hits.
Prescott improves to (2-1) in the Grand Canyon Region, and (3-2) overall. The Badgers will pay a visit to Deer Valley today at 3:45 pm. Mohave falls to (1-4) in the GCR, and (2-4) overall.
