Executive Order 2021-05 Regarding Occupancy Limits; All Other Restrictions Remain In Place

Earlier, Governor Ducey issued Executive Order 2021-05 rescinding occupancy limitations on many business establishments.  While this is a step toward reopening for all businesses, it is an incremental step.

Restrictions that affect bars remain in effect.  What this means for the bars without dine-in service is restrictions on live entertainment, dancing and standing remain in effect.

“The Governor’s Executive Order is a step in the right direction. This will immediately and positively impact restaurants, bars with dine-in service, gyms, and bowling alleys,” said Prescott Mayor Greg Mengarelli.  “However, some of our bars, like many of those on Whiskey Row, are still under restrictions.  We look forward to continued reductions in COVID-19 case counts so that we can get all establishments fully open. I urge all citizens to continue to be diligent and follow CDC guidelines.”

He went on to say: “As occupancy restrictions are beginning to lift, this is a good time to further discuss where we go from here on outdoor dining and parklets.”; and as such, a discussion on the City’s parklet policy will be held on March 23, 2021 at a regularly scheduled council meeting,
