Governor’s Office of Highway Safety Grant Awarded to the Chino Valley Police Department

The Chino Valley Police Department has been awarded an Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety grant for federal fiscal year 2021. This partnership between Chino Valley Police Department and Arizona Governor’s Office of Highway Safety provides funding which allows Chino Valley Police Department to purchase equipment as well as fund overtime for officers to participate in impaired driver and traffic enforcement details.

The grant award of $17,990.00 will cover the purchase of two solar-powered speed display signs which will be placed on Road 1 West near Headstart school. These signs will alert drivers that they are approaching a school zone and display their speed. This grant also provides funding for officer overtime to staff impaired driving and speed enforcement details throughout the year in our community. The goal of these details will be to slow drivers down in an attempt to reduce speed related crashes in Chino Valley.

The Chino Valley Police Department is asking the public to report areas they feel additional traffic enforcement is needed. To report this, please contact us at (928) 636-4223 ext. 2 and let our Civilian Officers know about the area of concern, the time it’s occurring and any vehicle information available.

The Chino Valley Police Department is grateful to the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety for their continued support to the safety of our roadways and citizens of Chino Valley.
