On 09/30/2020 at approximately 1:03 pm Chino Valley Officers responded to a three-vehicle collision in the 3300 block of S.R. 89.
Through investigation officers determined a vehicle had stopped in the roadway to make a left hand turn into a nearby business. Traffic behind this vehicle came to a stop. A white 1999 Ford F-350 being driven by an 18-year-old Prescott resident failed to stop in time and rear-ended a grey 2011 Chevrolet Malibu being driven by a 49-year-old Paulden resident, this caused the Chevrolet Malibu to be pushed into a white 1997 Jeep Grand Cherokee being driven by a 59-year-old Paulden Resident. All three involved vehicles sustained substantial damage. The vehicle making the left-hand turn was not involved in the collision.
The collision caused the F-350 to run off the roadway to the East and overturn onto its driver side. The driver of the F-350 reported the vehicles brakes did not operate correctly and in an attempt to avoid the collision they drove off the roadway.
The driver of the Grand Cherokee suffered a minor injury to their left wrist and the driver of the Malibu complained of back pain. All patients were treated on-scene and released.
