A local partnership with Manzanita Outreach and Heights Church now shares free, fresh food with the residents of Prescott Valley. Boxes of perishable and non-perishable food will be available at the Heights Church Prescott Valley location.
Starting Saturday, September 12th, Manzanita Outreach and Heights Church volunteers will offer drive-thru food pick-up from 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM or until food supplies run out. Location for the Food Sharing event will be at the former Albertson’s grocery store parking lot located at 7450 E. Pav Way, Prescott Valley, AZ, 86314.
Food Shares will occur the second and fourth Saturdays of the month and will adhere to social distancing precautions.
Mike Newcomb of Manzanita Outreach explains, “We are focused on ensuring all our neighbors have enough to eat, regardless of their personal circumstances. We don’t consider ourselves a food bank or food pantry; we are just sharing food with our neighbors.”
Cars will line up for registration and volunteers will be ready to load boxes into your trunk. Please have ample space in your trunk for several boxes. Food pick-up for individual households only requires your name, address, date of birth and household size during the drive-thru. Head of household must be present.
If you’re unable to attend our Food Sharing event, you may assign someone to pick up food on your behalf. In order to do so, please sign-up online at least 48 hours in advance at QCLocal.org using the Proxy Form.
Kolbi Millsap of Heights Church says, “The response to our food shares this summer has been both humbling and overwhelming. Thanks to this new partnership with Manzanita Outreach, we are happy to begin this new season of food shares that extend into the fall.”
