About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

500 Splash Bashes are taking place across the country, and one such event is happening in Prescott this Saturday.

pst2.jpgThe Prescott Pirates Swim Team (PST) is excited to announce they are hosting a U.S. Olympic Splash Bash Party on Saturday, August 16, 2008 at the Yavapai Commuity College Pool, Prescott campus, building #2. Activities start at 6:00pm and will conclude at 8:30pm.

Boys and girls ages 5-18 interested in swimming are welcome to attend with their families. Bring a swim suit, towel and goggles. We will provide the fun, food, games, prizes and viewing of the men's and women's Olympic swimming events. This Olympic party will include interactive games, event prize giveaways for all attendees, and everyone in attendance will be registered to win a trip for two to attend the Golden Goggles Awards in New York City where theyíll mingle with past and present Olympians USA Swimming's annual award ceremony.

In addition to this local Splash Bash Party, there are 500 others taking place around the country throughout the duration of the Olympic Swimming competition. It is the hope of USA Swimming and Prescott Swim Team that the excitement of the Olympic Games and the success of the Team USA swimmers, will serve to inspire young swimmers across the country.

PST coaches Luke Lerette & Cynthia MacInness encourage all children to become better swimmers, through building confidence in the water, stroke development and endurance. Watching our US Swim Team participate in Bejing is a way to encourage more kids to become active and healthy through swimming. Information about Prescott Swim Team will be available during the Splash Bash event. For more information, visit the Prescott Swim Team website.
