About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news. 

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Prescott Pirates Swim Team Has 18 Top Finishes PDF Print E-mail

Daniel Schleicher and Erik Haynes compete in the 50 Freestyle at the 27th Annual Verde Valley Invitational swim meet hosted by the Cottonwood Clippers Swim Team on August 2, 2008. Boys 13-14 High Point awards were earned by Daniel (First place) and Erik (Second Place).
The Prescott Pirates Swim Team (PST) competed in the 27th Annual Verde Valley Invitational on August 2nd, hosted by the Cottonwood Clippers Swim Team. Over 275 swimmers participated in over 824 events. Eight PST Pirates swam 23 events earning 18 top finishes, & 12 personal best times.

 

Daniel Schleicher (14) won the first place boys 13-14 High Point Award with 1st place finishes in the 50 Freestyle, 50 Backstroke and 50 Butterfly.

Erik Haynes (14) won the second place boys 13-14 High Point Award by finishing 1st in the 50 Breaststroke, 2nd in the 50 Freestyle and 3rd in the 50 Backstroke.

Autumn Sierra (12) improved in all of her events, placing 2nd in the 100 Freestyle, 3rd in the 50 Butterfly and 3rd in the 50 Freestyle.

Kurtis Haynes (18) took 3rd in the men’s 100 Freestyle and top finishes in the 50 Freestyle and 50 Breaststroke.

Matt Kendrick(16) swam personal bests in the 50 Freestyle and 50 Breaststroke.

swim3.jpgTiffany Riviere (11) won 3 top finishes in the 50 Freestyle, 50 Butterfly and 100 Freestyle.

Sarah Riviere (16) swam personal bests in the 50 Freestyle and 50 Butterfly. Jessie Adams (14) swam in her first competitive meet in the 50 Freestyle and 50 Backstroke assisting the experienced Pirates in the Medley Relays.

Head Coach Luke Lerette and Al Schleicher swam the masters events. Coach Luke still holds numerous age-group records for the Cottonwood Clippers.

PST is currently accepting 2009 registrations which begins September 1st 2008 and runs through December 31st, 2009. The team will be participating in the Central Arizona Fall League which begins in September and includes 4 meets plus a championship meet. Interested swimmers must be 6-18 years old and contact the coach or team registrar for skill assessment and team placement.
