Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

coachpayneteam2.jpgPrescott High School Badgers Wrestling Coach Dan Payne was voted the Western Sky Coach of the Year, as he led his team to the Regional Title this year.

On Saturday, the PHS wrestlers clinched their regional victory by 184.5 points, just 10 points ahead of Thunderbird. According to Coach Payne, every wrestler gave his all and wrestled with all his heart.

Coach Payne was proud of his entire team, and noted that even those who did not qualify to go to the Arizona State Tournament, contributed to the Badger's Team title. "Without the points that Jon Charles, Nick Dzubak, Sam Shapiro and Adrian Martinez contributed to get to the consolation finals, PHS wrestling would have not won the region. We were in a really tough region this year especially in Martinez’s weight," he said.

All together, Prescott qualified ten wrestlers for State, as did Thunderbird and Sandra Day O'Connor. Prescott is now ranked #2 in the State 4A1 bracket, according to the Arizona Republic .
