About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

sheriffslogo.jpgOn Monday, September 10, at approximately 10:20 PM, the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office responded to a report of an assault that had occurred on Gail Lane near Salt Mine Road in Camp Verde. The victim, a 20-year-old Camp Verde resident, had been taken to the Camp Verde Fire station with injuries she had reported received at a house party earlier that evening.

The victim, who was taken to the Verde Valley Medical Center with injuries to her face, throat and eye, identified her two attackers as 18-year-old Kimberlee Elaine Jackson and 18-year-old Valerie Marie Lowry, both of Camp Verde. Witnesses at the gathering confirmed the victim's statement that she was attacked from behind, thrown on the ground and kicked and hit by Jackson and Lowry. It was alleged that the victim managed to get away and was running down Salt Mine Road when the suspects caught her and continued the assault.

The suspects told YCSO and Tribal Officers that the victim had been causing problems for them. Jackson and Lowry were both arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Injury and Disorderly Conduct.
