About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Please use the contact form to send all comments and suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you.

Prescott eNews has a lot to celebrate this month, and we're doing it in a big way!

To begin with, July marks our first anniversary. A year ago, we began our online publication with one question: If we start a news website in the Prescott area, will anybody read it? We were thrilled that we had nearly 2000 page views that first month, and that just seemed like a confirmation to what we were trying to do.

Well, we've come a long way since then - for June '08, we had over 108,000 page views! Woohoo!

We know that without our reader's support, we'd have folded up and withered away. So, we wanted to say thanks, and here's how:

Meet'N'Greet

We're having a Meet'N'Greet at the historic Palace Restaurant and Saloon on Sunday, July 27, at 2:00 pm. We want you to come! Appetizers are sponsored by Helken & Horn Advertising Agency and guests are asked to BYOD (Buy Your Own Drink).

It will be an informal time to just say howdy and thanks! We truly hope you'll come. Please RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it so we can make sure to have enough food.

A New Website Feature: Forums

Do you ever feel like adding comments at the bottom of an article just isn't a long enough conversation? Do you want to say more? Well, now we've added in the eNews Forums (you can find them under the Features tab) and you're welcome to start a conversation of your own. We've put up a few to get started, but we'd love to have your contributions, too!

Currently, you need to be registered with the website to add comments. But, that's not a bad thing, because then you get on the Prescott eNews Reports list, too!

A New Website Feature: RSS Feeds

What are RSS feeds? Glad you asked! RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication, or Rich Site Summary, depending on who you ask. It's designed for busy folks (that's all of us, I'm sure!) who just want to skim the headlines and see if there's anything new that would be of interest.

But, what is really cool about RSS Feeds is that you can subcribe to them in a number of ways, and capture those headlines in something called an aggregator, or an RSS Reader. In other words, you can have RSS feeds from a variety of websites show up in one location, whether it is specific software such as Newsgator or as part of your personalized Yahoo or Google home page.

We've had RSS feeds for several months, but we recently updated the functionality, allowing you to subscribe to the entire site, or to just a section of the site. We now also offer a variety of RSS readers for you to choose from. If you don't see your favorite, be sure to let us know, because we have quite a few more we can add very easily.

New Advertising Rates

Frequently, during a slower economy, businesses cut their advertising budget. But, that's when you need to advertise the most! So, we sharpened our pencils and restructured our rates. Now we have packages that are priced so low that there is no excuse not to advertise on Prescott eNews. Really. So, give us a call and set an appointment with one of our advertising representatives.

Ok, well that about wraps it up! Thanks for sharing in our first year, and we look forward to many more!
