About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

Please use the contact form to send all comments and suggestions. We look forward to hearing from you.

I bet there are a lot of stories about the Bird Cage Saloon!
So, what is a Business Profile, anyway? And, what's the difference between a Business Profile and Business News?

Well, sometimes, a business does something that's newsworthy; maybe the business donates a large sum of money to a non-profit such as United Way, for example. Or, they build a large new facility. Or they enter into an exciting new partnership. Or they develop and launch a brand new product. Any story written about something like that would be written under the Business News section. (And, by the way, we hope you'll let Prescott eNews know about your business' news events!)

I'm not sure about you, but sometimes I look at a business, and I have lots of questions. Like, who started it, and why did they name it that? How many people work there, and do they like it? Who are their customers? And, how are they changing the world?

You see, behind every business there's a story to tell. Some stories become become well known, and examples to the rest of us, such as the story behind Apple Computer. Other stories are about a person who had an idea, and did something about it.  Some business stories are about the people who work there, or customers that benefited from a company's services. It doesn't really matter what kind of business it is, wherever there's a retail store, or a dentist or an internet company; there's a story (or two or three or more).

At Prescott eNews, when we tell you those kinds of stories, we call them Business Profiles. Sometimes, we come up with the stories ourselves and ask permission to tell our readers about it. Sometimes the business comes to us, and even sponsors the story, because they want people to know about what they're doing. Of course, if we're paid to write a story, we'll be upfront about that and let you know.

There are a lot of businesses in our community with a lot of stories to tell. Some stories are old, some are new. Many of those stories are about people like you and me, people with an idea, and an compelling urge to make something happen.

And, isn't it more fun to go to a restaurant or a shop or a store, if you feel like you know a little of it's history? Isn't it nice when you're at a store, and you recognize the clerk from an article you read?

For instance, later today, we'll be putting up a story about two WalMart associates. It is a paid profile, because WalMart wanted to give recognition to their Associates of the Month. And, when you read that story, you might even say, "Hey, I saw that guy in Electronics! He's the one who answered all my questions!"

Maybe you know of a great story in our community. Or, maybe you've wandered by a store front, and had unanswered questions. Maybe that's the next story we'll tell!
