About Us

Here at Prescott eNews, we think there's a lot going on in the Prescott quad-city area. And, yes, we know that bad news happens, but we also know that a lot more good news happens. So, we intend to tell lots of good news, while not ignoring the bad news.

Although there are some online news sites for the Prescott area, there aren't many that seem to take advantage of the medium of the internet. Here at Prescott eNews, we know the difference between putting a book or a newspaper online, and using the Internet to its full potential. And we think it's time that a quality news website makes its home in Prescott, Arizona.

How Old Are You?

Ssshhhh...! Don't tell anyone, but we launched our beta site in June, 2007. So, yeah, we're the new kid on the block. Well, at least for this particular site. But, our staff has been designing websites for nearly 10 years, and are also accomplished Photoshop digital artists, writers, photographers and design instructors. What all that means is that just because this particular site is new, it doesn't mean that we don't know what we're doing.

What I think is fun and good about painting on the mural wall!

daniellepainting2.jpgI really love helping to paint the mural at the Prescott Public Library. I was very lucky to be chosen as the person who got to paint on the mural wall first. I got to paint some light blue, next to a diamond shape. The paint dries really fast. And the Mural Mice keep telling you to put your brushes in the water when you are done.

The Mural Mice’s names are Maggie and R. Maggie is very nice and she’s very helpful!!!  She helps mixing the paint and tells us how to paint what you’re painting. Like, if you are high up she hands the paints to you. And if you stand up and have to balance she holds the paint for you and stuff like that. R squirts you with cool water and tells information about the mural to people who walk by and ask about it. They have great personalities.

There were a lot of kids on Saturday!!!!! And a lot of people too, all different ages. All the people that were there were very nice. One kid wanted to paint a rock and she did. It’s beautiful!  You don’t have to have anything special to go there. No tickets or anything. Just show up there.

daniellepainting4.jpgAll together on the mural, I got to paint: part of the wagon, the horses pulling the wagon, a door knob, a piece of paper, some computer keys, and some of the blue background around the diamonds.

It’s super exciting to watch the picture get bigger and bigger and more and more beautiful. It’s fun to be a part of history on the mural wall. And painting is super-easy.

I was so worried that I would mess up the mural but it actually is easier than it looks. It’s easier than any regular painting. Don’t worry about messing it up. Because the kids and people are only painting the first layer. The Mural Mice are going to come in after and do it all again. There was a painter there Saturday that did fire, and her fire was b-e-u-t-i-f-u-l!!! It looked like real fire.

This Saturday is the last Saturday you can paint. It was a lot of fun. You should do it. Make sure to wear clothes that you don’t care if they get paint on them. I got paint on my hands and legs and a blob in my hair. It took awhile to get out. But it was worth it!
